There are many businesses and business owners in Roxborough. These local businesses help move the economy of small areas like Roxborough through taxes that are returned and invested into local infrastructure, such as schools, roads, etc.
The Roxborough Business Association (RBA) was formed in 2011 and began primarily as a networking group. It was formalized as a business group in 2012 with the mission to advance and promote the economic environment for business, and to advocate responsive government and quality education, while preserving Roxborough 80125’s unique community characteristics.
Katia de Orbegoso serves as the president of RBA and has worked with the board of directors to establish monthly networking meetings as well as other special events throughout the year.
Last November, she had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. with the Colorado Business Roundtable. As part of this visit, she sat in on a briefing at the White House where one executive talked about the importance of small business in the movement of the economy. He also informed the group that President Obama would be shopping small on Small Business Saturday.
RBA also supported Small Business Saturday to benefit all of Roxborough 80125 business owners and residents. REMAX EDGE opened its office in the Roxborough Marketplace to showcase home-based businesses in the Roxborough community.
This month, RBA is hosting its RBA After Hours event on Wednesday, February 18th at the REMAX EDGE office. It will feature a presentationon “2014 Tax Update Information,” from local Roxborough resident and business owner Amy Hoeye of Hoeye and Associates, LLC.
