4th Annual Music Festival Rocks Roxborough

On Saturday, September 6, 2014, local musicians will rock the Roxborough community at the 4th Annual Roxborough Music Festival. The event will take place from 12:00 noon – 10:00 p.m. in the Roxborough Marketplace.

12:00 noon – 12:45 p.m.                   TiMe WaRp – Classic/Dance Rock

1:15 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.                        Tin Star Charmer – Roots/Pop/Rock

2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.                        Honey Badgers – Contemporary Hits

3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.                        Bradford – Instrumental Rock

5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.                        Number 9 – Progressive Metal

6:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.                        Saving Juliet – Contemporary Hits

8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.                      Tyler Walker Band – Country Rock

Drawings and door prizes will be announced between 8:15 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

There will also be a Vendor Village featuring booths from local businesses and organizations, as well as a kid’s area with games, bouncy houses and cotton candy from 12:00 noon – 6:00 p.m.

The music festival is supported by local area businesses, vendors, community members and volunteers, and is a fundraiser for Hands Across Roxborough. Hands Across Roxborough is a non-profit 501c3, located in the Roxborough, Colorado community to serve the 80125 zip code and help neighbors in need. Last year approximately $8,000 was raised at the music festival for Hands Across Roxborough.

“Hands Across Roxborough is about caring for your neighbors in this great place to live and giving people an avenue to help each other in times of need,” said Carlene Harris, Director of Hands Across Roxborough.

Services available include a Food Bank and Clothing Bank, as well as assistance during extreme hardships with utilities, medical bills and resumes for people and families in need. The organization also refers people to other county and state agencies for services such as mental health counseling.

Every November, Hands Across Roxborough holds a gift card drive for the holidays in conjunction with the Roxborough Elementary PTIC. Volunteers also donate time to help the elderly residents of Roxborough and by providing pro-bono professional services such as plumbing, construction, etc.

Additional fundraisers are held on an as needed basis. For example, if a local family experiences a tragic event that impacts their daily life, Hands Across Roxborough facilitates getting the family what they need to help get they through a tough time.

If you are interested in donating to Hands Across Roxborough, monetary donations and other items can be dropped off at Hands Across Roxborough, 7129 Eagle Rock Dr., Roxborough, CO 80125 or at the RE/MAX Edge office in the Roxborough Marketplace.

They accept gently used kids clothes for the Clothing Circle and nonperishable items for the Food Bank. Also needed are gift cards for the following stores: Safeway, King Soopers, Walmart, or Target.
